Social media giant Meta has announced a massive expansion of its NFT program, allowing all Facebook and Instagram users in the U.S. to showcase digital collectibles they themselves created or bought.
Speaking to the co-founder and host of Impact Theory, Tom Bilyeu, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the social media giant will trial NFT functionality on Instagram this week. The news comes roughly two months after the tech billionaire first announced that NFTs are coming to Instagram at this year’s SXSW conference in March.
Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta has filed eight trademark applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to use its intellectual property in the metaverse and the broader blockchain space.
