The Argentine Football Association (AFA) and Uplandme, a leading metaverse platform, have announced a partnership that will bring the First Division Argentina professional football league to the Upland metaverse. This partnership will allow AFA and the league to engage Argentinian football fans with the metaverse and connect them with their favorite teams and players. The deal is the first presence of Argentine soccer in the metaverse and the first time that Upland has offered exclusive ownership of in-game video to its fans. Through the partnership, fans will be able to interact with a complete set of Argentine football digital collectibles, including teams, clubs, players, tickets, and gameplay footage. Fans will also be able to start virtual businesses to resell virtual goods and other digital collectibles on their virtual properties. The partnership expands Upland’s involvement with global and European football following its recent partnership with FIFA, which allows fans to access highlights from the FIFA World Cup as digital collectibles.
